Description
(Ages 5-15 years) The focus of Level 3 is to teach coordination of freestyle and backstroke for 15 yards with rhythmic breathing and introduce treading water and elementary backstroke. In addition, safe diving practices from the side of the pool and underwater swimming will be taught. Prerequisite(s): pass Level 2 or swim freestyle and backstroke for at least 10 yards. To pass this course, swimmers should be able to swim freestyle with rhythmic breathing and backstroke proficiently for at least 15 yards. Swimmers should also be able to dive from the side of the pool safely and perform an effective breaststroke kick.
