Description

To master all eighty-eight keys, start with the fundamentals. This class emphasizes proper posture, hand technique, note identification, basic rhythms, dynamics, and more. Students will experience the satisfaction of playing their first tunes. This course represents the second level of Year 1 in the Youth Piano Program. The CMC curriculum provides four years of group instruction designed to prepare students for private lessons. Placement into private instruction in Year 4 is based on instructor availability, student skill level, demonstrated progress, and consistent class attendance.The cost of the course includes the required textbook for this class: Faber Piano Adventures Primer Level, which will be provided at the first class. No class on January 18th, 2027, in Observance of Martin Luther King DayNo class on February 15th, 2027, in observance of Presidents' Day. No class on May 31st, 2027, in Observance of Memorial Day.
